KOCHI: Footballers are known for their style statements. Whether it is a fancy hairdo or wacky tattoos footballers prefer to stand out from the rest.
However, Kochi's ISL team, Kerala Blasters, made a different sort of style statement here on Monday during the launch of team's logo.
Led by their marquee playercum-manager, David James, the team assembled on stage wearing a yellow Kerala Blasters T-shirt and a dhoti (mundu) with a golden border to it, a typical Kerala attire worn on festive occasions. Their adventure didn't end with that. The whole team including their talismanic striker Michael Chopra and Canadian Iain Hume, who had arrived in the city in the wee hours of the morning, dared to have a small footballing session on the hotel lawns wearing the dhoti.
